«CENTER FOR PEACE AND MULTIETHNIC COOPERATION MOSTAR» established in 2004 an award for contribution in bringing civilizations and cultures closer.

Establishers of the award do not ignore the fact that there is a theory on «conflict of civilizations» and that such conflicts occasionally occur in the world. However, they are not inevitable.
Center for peace and multiethnic cooperation wishes to inspire efforts of those who confront such conflicts through their work and attitude. The award is based on painful experiences and temptations the City of Mostar witnessed at the end of the twentieth century. It will be given every year for «civilization achievements» to laureates of different profiles social and cultural workers, politicians, writers, publicists and all those who have, in various areas and in different ways, contributed to peace and multiethnic cooperation.
