CENTRE FOR PEACE AND MULTIETHNIC COOPERATION MOSTAR
bestows the prize
"MOSTAR PEACE CONNECTION 2007"
on
DR MOHAMED ELBARADEI
The Centre for Peace and Multiethnic Cooperation Mostar established in 2004 the prize bestowed on individuals for their contribution to bringing civilizations and cultures closer together.
The first laureate of this prize was the Czech politician, writer and former President, Vatzlav Havel, the second was dr Alois Mock and third one was the former President of the South African Republic, Nelson Mandela. The establishers of the prize do not neglect the fact of the existence of „conflict of civilizations“ theory and the fact that such conflicts occur in the world at times. These conflicts, however, are not inescapable. By the prize it established, the Centre for Peace and Multiethnic Cooperation wishes to encourage the efforts of those who resist such conflicts with their attitude and work. It is a great pleasure of the Centre for Peace and Multiethnic Cooperation to bestow its prize to Dr Mohamed ElBaradei for his personal commitment to the establishment of peace and international cooperation, aimed at overcoming the crises and conflicts throughout the globe.
The prize is founded on the ordeal and challenges witnessed by Mostar at the end of the 20th century. It will be bestowed every year for civilizational achievements to the laureates of diverse profiles, public and cultural workers, politicians, writers, publicists and the others who made their contribution to peace and multiethnic cooperation in various domains and manners.
